Where do you shoot graduation, student, and senior portrait sessions?

I shoot all over the Seattle and Eastside areas! Some of my absolute favorite spots for student graduation and senior portrait sessions are the UW Campus & The Quad, Discovery Park, Green Lake, Pioneer Square, Gas Works Park, and Kerry Park. I'm also always down for a road trip to epic mountain spots like Snoqualmie Pass or Mount Rainier! Do you help with posing and location ideas?

Absolutely! Picking the right spot is a big part of the fun. Whether you want Space Needle views at Gas Works Park, forest trails at the Arboretum, or classic campus portraits, I'll help you pick the perfect spot and timing. Once we're there, I'll guide you through every pose and prompt so you feel completely comfortable and natural, never stiff or awkward!

Do you do hiking or adventure photoshoots?

Absolutely! I love adventure sessions and am always happy to hike with you to capture those epic Pacific Northwest mountain backdrops. Some of my favorite hiking spots are Rattlesnake Ledge, Poo Poo Point, and Gold Creek Pond. If you have a favorite local trail or an epic PNW hike in mind, just let me know—I'll pack my camera gear and hike right up with you! (Standard travel transit terms still apply for super far spots, but we'll chat about that during booking!)

What is included in a session?

Every standard session includes at least 20 high-resolution, professionally edited digital images delivered via a secure private online gallery, alongside a custom formatted social media carousel! I focus on a natural, luminous look that celebrates the real you (which includes custom color-grading, light enhancement, and polishing up any temporary blemishes). For more extensive edits like removing backgrounds, heavy crowds, or steaming outfits, I'm happy to offer custom advanced retouching at $75.00/hour. Just a quick heads-up: unedited RAW files are my behind-the-scenes building blocks, so they aren't included or available for sale.

How many outfits should I bring?

I love a good outfit change! Your session includes the number of outfit changes we agree on when booking (usually up to 2). Since our shooting time flies by, we include any changing time in the session duration. To make the absolute most of our time together, we recommend coordinating two cohesive, easy-to-change-into looks!

How quickly will I receive my photos?

I know you can't wait to see your photos! You'll get at least 3 gorgeous sneak peeks and your full gallery of beautifully edited images within 14 days of our shoot. I always aim for a speedy 14-day delivery, but during peak busy seasons or in case of unexpected emergencies or tech delays, our backup promise is to have everything to you within 60 days at the absolute latest!

Do you provide RAW photos?

I only deliver fully edited, finished photos! RAW files are the unpolished, flat-color building blocks that aren't a true reflection of my signature 'Soft & Airy' style, so they aren't available for download or purchase.

What camera gear and equipment do you shoot with?

I shoot with a professional dual-camera setup consisting of a retro-inspired Nikon Zf and a Nikon Z5 full-frame mirrorless body. This dual-body arrangement ensures that I always have a redundant backup system on hand during your session. I pair these bodies with premium, ultra-sharp Nikkor S-Series prime and macro lenses (28mm, 50mm, and 105mm) to capture rich colors, stunning low-light details, and that gorgeous, creamy background blur (bokeh) that gives my portraits their signature soft and airy aesthetic.

Do you travel outside Seattle?

Travel is completely included at no cost for any location within a 30-minute one-way transit time from the U-District. For locations requiring more than 30 minutes of one-way transit, a Transit Fee of $75.00/hour (pro-rated in 30-minute increments, e.g., $37.50 per additional 30 minutes of travel time) applies. However, the Transit Fee is completely waived for any location within a 1.25-mile walk of a Sound Transit Link Light Rail station (Northgate to International District/Chinatown), regardless of traffic! I'm also always excited for road trips to epic mountain spots like Snoqualmie Pass or Mount Rainier!

What if the weather looks bad?

Don't worry—this is Seattle, and a little Northwest drizzle is totally normal! Overcast skies and soft mist actually make for beautiful, dreamy lighting. If we just get a light drizzle, our shoot is a go! However, if the weather gets truly wild (like heavy downpours, lightning, winds over 20mph, poor air quality over 125, or extreme heat over 90°F), we will happily reschedule our session at no extra charge to make sure you have the perfect experience.

How do I book a session?

It's super easy! Just drop me a message through our contact form, send an email, or slide into my Instagram DMs. Once we pick a date and chat about your vision, we'll lock in your session with a booking retainer (which goes straight toward your total investment) and get you officially on the calendar!

What is your rescheduling policy?

Life happens, and I totally get it! You're welcome to one complimentary reschedule for any reason, as long as you let me know at least 4 days before our shoot so I can offer the slot to someone else. Because I reserve that specific time just for you, any cancellations or changes with less than 4 days' notice will mean the booking retainer is kept to cover the reserved spot.

How does payment work?

To make things as seamless as possible, your total investment includes your session, WA State Sales Tax, and any pre-calculated travel we agreed on. Your initial booking retainer is credited toward this total, and the remaining balance is due right at the end of our shoot before we wrap up for the day! I gladly accept Cash or Zelle (to the portraitzyo tag). To keep our workflow smooth and fair for everyone, we begin editing and processing your beautiful sneak peeks and final gallery as soon as the final balance is settled in full. If you need to head out without finishing payment, we'll just treat it as a cancellation, so let's make sure we get you all squared away before saying goodbye!

Do you offer refunds?

Once we start shooting and creating together, all session payments are non-refundable. In the incredibly rare event of a technical issue or file corruption on my end, please rest assured that I'll take full care of you with a 100% refund of everything you've paid (including your booking retainer). And if a severe personal emergency or illness prevents me from capturing your day, you can choose to either reschedule at no cost or receive a full refund!

What happens if someone is running late to our session?

Don't panic! If you're running behind, just send me a quick text to let me know. To be fair to other clients scheduled after you, our session will still need to wrap up at the originally planned time. Arriving more than 30 minutes late without letting me know will be considered a no-show, which we definitely want to avoid! If I am running late, I promise to make it up to you: if it's a minor delay, we will extend our shooting time by the exact amount. If I'm more than 5 minutes late and you have a firm commitment right after (a 'Hard Stop'), I'll add 5 extra fully edited high-resolution images to your gallery and upgrade you to a complimentary Express Delivery (3-day turnaround) with my sincerest apologies!

Can I bring extra guests or participants to the shoot?

You are more than welcome to bring along a friend, partner, or family member to cheer you on, carry your bags, or help out behind the scenes! However, to make sure I can give everyone the attention they deserve and keep our schedule on track, our shoot is limited to the number of active participants we booked. If someone else jumps in front of the camera or joins in for poses, a $99.00 fee per extra person will be added to the session total, so if you'd like to do group photos, let's make sure to book the right package beforehand so we can plan for it!

What is your pet policy?

I absolutely adore animals! To make sure we have a safe, high-quality shoot, pets are only allowed if we chat about it and approve it in writing before our session. If a furry friend tagging along is a surprise, we might ask that they sit out the shoot with a helper, or we can add a $99.00 pet fee to keep them in the fun. Keep in mind that we want to maximize your shooting time, so any time spent managing or coordinating pets will count as part of our session.

Who is responsible for photography permits or venue fees?

You are responsible for checking, securing, and paying for any photography permits or entrance fees required by our location. If a session gets interrupted because a location requires a permit we don't have, don't worry! I'll do my absolute best to help us quickly transition to a beautiful nearby backup spot so we can capture the rest of your session. Because we have a set schedule, our shoot will still wrap up at the planned time, and we won't be able to offer refunds or free reschedules for time spent moving spots.

Who owns the copyrights to the photos?

I retain the copyright to the photos, and you receive a wonderful personal license! This means you can print them as much as you like, share them with family and friends, and post them all over your personal social media. We just ask that you don't use them for commercial sales, advertising, or entering contests. By booking, you also give me permission to share a few of our beautiful photos on my website, portfolio, and social media so I can showcase our awesome work together!

Can I apply my own social media filters or edit the photos?

To preserve the luminous, signature 'Soft & Airy' look that you hired me for, I kindly ask that you do not apply extra filters (like Instagram, VSCO, or TikTok presets) or crop/color-alter the delivered images. My editing is a huge part of my brand's heart and soul, and I want your photos to shine exactly as they were captured in the beautiful natural light!

How long will my online gallery stay active?

Your private online gallery remains fully active for 90 days after delivery. Don't worry—as long as we still have the files in our secure long-term archives, we've got you covered! After 90 days, your gallery is safely moved to our long-term storage. Retrieving and re-hosting your gallery online after this period is subject to a simple $25.00 unarchiving fee, which reactivates it for another 14 days. I highly recommend backing up your files to a computer or hard drive as soon as you download them!
